Having recently retired from full time work, I have been able to devote more time to photography. I have been a keen landscape photographer, but more recently have become increasingly absorbed by bird photography. I find it to be challenging, yet also very rewarding when everything comes together for that perfect shot. I prefer to shoot the birds in their natural habitat, without any baiting or artificial set ups.

My primary aim is to create images that are aesthetically pleasing, while continuing to develop my knowledge of birds and building on the range of species photographed. Having recently moved to Queensland, Australia, I am enjoying the huge range of birds here, and the new opportunities that presents.

Gear
I shoot with a Canon R5, with a Canon 100-500 telephoto lens and (sometimes) a 1.4 teleconverter. The high resolution of the Canon, combined with excellent autofocus for birds in flight, makes it ideal for wildlife photography.
